Why talk to an immigration lawyer when you can just contact the White House. Mr. Bush will gladly give you protection under his own law, give you amnesty, give you a guest worker job, connect you with a criminal CEO who will give you a job. Forget about a lawyer, just contact Mr. Bush @ 1-800-CRI-MINAL.

It doesn’t matter where the lawyer is located, immigration is a federal thing so you can have a lawyer in a different state than where you live.

the 60$ sounds low, that could be a lawyer that’s starting out. I’ve heard around 100-150$ for a consult.

I don’t live in Texas, but I know what lawyers charge where I live, it would be at least as much. Anywhere from $90.00 to $150.00., depending on whether the lawyer specializes in immigration law or not! Take any and all paperwork you have with you to avoid a second consultation fee!!

good luck! I know the process can be daunting- he/she should guide you through everything you need to know- and you are smart to get an attorney. The most important thing is you're going to need to prove that you and your fiance really have a relationship-so ask about what kind of proof you should be collecting (ie photos of the two of you together)
